TROOPER MARC K. CASTELLANO
NEW JERSEY STATE pOLICE
AGE: 29 HOWELL
"TROOPER MARC K. CASTELLANO, of the 136th Class, September 24th, 2004. Marc suffered severe injuries after
being struck by a motor vehicle while establishing a perimeter in pursuit of an alleged armed suspect. Marc
succumbed to his injuries at Jersey Shore Univ. Med. Ctr, Neptune, NJ. Marc is survived by a wife and two
small children.

DENNIS R. MARTIN
CEP Court Chief
AGE: 68 BENSALEM
"DENNIS R. MARTIN died on April 8, 2010, age 68 years. Born in Milwaukee, WI. He was a longtime Bensalem,PA
resident. Dennis was an active choir member at St. Stephen's Lutheran Church and was the loving father of
Douglas and Marisa Martin. Dennis began his correctional career in 1971 with the Philadelphia Adult
Probation Department. In 1984, he joined the Probation Services Division of the Administrative Office of the
New Jersey Courts, where he developed and led the Comprehensive Enforcement Program, a highly successful and
innovative initiative that significantly increased collection of restitution, fines and fees. The CEP was
recognized by the Council of State Governments with an Innovations Award in 1996. Dennis was a long time
supporter of PANJ and served for many years on the PANJ-AOC Health and Safety Committee where he recommended
to management several positive measures to assist PANJ members throughout the State . He will be greatly
missed by many of us in PANJ and at AOC."

JOHN WARMS
AGE: 71 HILLSBOROUGH
JOHN WARMS died Saturday, June 13, 2009 at the age of 71. Born and raised in Newark, Mr. Warms was a resident of Skillman for
36 years. John graduated from Carteret Academy, Montclair State College and earned a master's degree from Seton Hall University.
Prior to his 32-year career with the New Jersey Education Association as a field representative, negotiator and teacher rights case
manager, he was a teacher at Winfield Park and Piscataway school systems. John helped develop special national projects such as
"Read Across America" with the National Education Association. He also served on the N.J. State Committee that established Drug Free
School Zones. He was an active member of NJEA and NEA professional associations. He helped to establish the Paul Demetrious Fund. He
and others established the National Staff Organization and served as it's president for 25 years. John received many awards, most
importantly the ACLU Roger Baldwin Civil Liberties Award. Following retirement, John was a vice-president of Teachscape, a
professional development company for teachers. He also represented New Jersey Probation Officers and served as a legal consultant
for the Klausner Hunter law firm.
